3 p.m.: The House Higher Education Committee will hold a work session on:

  • Counting aviation maintenance course hours for purposes of the Community College Support Fund (SB 482).
  • Prohibiting post-secondary institutions from denying transcripts because of student debt (SB 424).

3 p.m.: The Senate Education Committee will hold a possible work session on:

  • Changing the Custodians Civil Service Law (HB 3227 A).
  • Studying the workload for school health care practitioners (HB 2618 A).
  • Paying school board members (HB 2753 A).
  • Exempting school health care providers from interpreter requirements (HB 2240).
  • Modifying consent requirements for school district sexual harassment policies (HB 2280).
  • Expanding the list of individuals whose histories, contributions and perspectives are required to be included in social studies academic content standards and in related textbooks and instructional materials (HB 2905).

Wednesday

3 p.m.: The House Education Committee will hold a possible work session on:

  • Eliminating restrictions on paying unemployment insurance benefits to certain nonprofessional educational workers (SB 489).
  • Studying access to advanced classes (SB 736).
  • Directing school district boards to adopt a prevention curriculum that addresses child sex trafficking (SB 473).
  • Modifying abbreviated school day requirements (SB 819 A).
  • Requiring that only students who have school identification numbers are included in average daily membership (SB 923 A).
  • Removing alternative certificates as an option for completing high school (SB 992 A).
  • Prescribing timelines and redacting requirements for records related to the provision of special education (SB 758 A).
  • Increasing the amounts of grants for school facilities under certain grant programs (SB 285 A).

Thursday

3 p.m.: The Senate Finance and Revenue Committee will hold a public hearing on:

  • Requiring the Legislative Revenue Officer to study the corporate activity tax (SB 140).

3 p.m.: The House Higher Education Committee will hold a work session on:

  • Allowing community colleges to offer nursing bachelor of science degrees (SB 523 A).

3 p.m.: The Senate Education Committee will hold a possible work session on:

  • Requiring school districts and public charter schools to designate a civil rights coordinator (HB 2281 A).
  • Requiring applicants for Student Investment Account grants to consider the recommendations of advisory groups formed by the Department of Education in relation to statewide education plans (HB 2275).
  • Preserving additional funding for small school districts that merge with one or more school districts (HB 3135).
  • Allowing high school students in grades 11 or 12 to be awarded high school equivalency diplomas (HB 3068 A).
  • Modifying timelines related to enrolling students in virtual public charter schools (HB 3204 A).
  • Increasing the number of members of the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HB 3564 A).
