Janet Avila-Medina

Bio
Janet Avila-Medina is an education advocate who believes every child can succeed and deserves an education that allows them to reach their full potential. She helps board members understand their governance role and how their work impacts student achievement. She holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Denver and a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Oregon.
Before graduate school, Janet was the coordinator for the Early Learning Washington County Hub, an initiative by the Oregon Early Learning Division. In this role, she collaborated with cross-sector partners to align services and resources to improve access to high-quality early childhood education for children and families in Washington County.
When she’s not training boards, she enjoys spending time with her family.
