Adrienne Anderson joined OSBA as a legislative specialist Monday, May 20.

Anderson will work with school board members to ensure the Legislature and the governor’s office understand schools’ needs as Oregon faces pivotal education funding decisions in the coming year.

Anderson has a law degree and was most recently working in the criminal justice system, focusing on juvenile justice. She is also a Portland State University adjunct professor of administrative law. Anderson has experience working in the Capitol for the Legislative Policy and Research Office supporting the House and Senate judiciary committees.

“I have witnessed the impact when students’ needs aren’t met and when school districts lack the resources to support them,” Anderson said. “I strongly believe in the public education system and look forward to working with legislators to pass laws that empower local leaders and ensure quality, equitable education for all Oregon students.”

Anderson joins Efren Zamudio as the Legislative Services team reshapes itself in preparation for Director Lori Sattenspiel’s retirement in June.

“Anderson’s legal training coupled with her legislative experience will serve students’ interests well as OSBA continues to advocate for a high-quality education for all,” Sattenspiel said.
