The Oregon Department of Education unveiled a new school data dashboard Thursday.

ODE designed the Oregon Online Report Card with the aim of making school information more accessible. Users can search individual schools or districts and compare data points across districts and against state averages. The dashboard brings together information already published in the two-page At-A-Glance School and District Profiles and various spreadsheets and reports on the ODE website going back three school years.

Users can generate graphs, tables and spreadsheets with specific data such as graduation rates, attendance rates and ninth grade on-track. The data can also be broken out and compared by student groups.

ODE plans to update the dashboard information each fall as the At-A-Glance report cards are made available. The dashboard also operates in Spanish. ODE said this is just the first phase in revamping its data presentation and more improvements will be coming.
