Salute to Success nominations

OSBA’s goal for the Salute to Success awards is to highlight innovative projects or programs that boost student achievement and engage communities in their schools. We particularly appreciate hearing about programs that can be adopted by or adapted for other districts, ESDs and community colleges. We select six winners each year, and winners are recognized at OSBA's annual convention, given trophies, publicity and cash awards.

Nomination process and criteria

We've made it easy!

Nominations are accepted year-round, and you may nominate as often as you like. Board members and superintendents of school and education service districts and community college presidents may nominate Salute to Success prospects or pass along nominations from their staffs.

Submit your Salute to Success nominations by:

  • E-mailing them to Dian Cox , Communication Services Specialist.
  • Calling Dian Cox with your suggestion, 503-485-4812.

Criteria:

  • The program should have been developed or adapted to meet specific education-related needs in your school district (school or district level), ESD or community college and been proved, over a reasonable amount of time, to  be successful. We are especially interested in board-originated and board-supported programs and projects.
  • The program engages the community and helps build public knowledge of and support for education and improves student achievement.

Please do not submit commercial (for-sale) programs or those that require consultation or other fees.

Thank you for helping us recognize some of the many deserving educational programs and projects serving Oregon public-school students.
