Federal Regulations & Resources is a membership benefit of the National School Boards Association's Office of General Counsel and the NSBA Council of School Attorneys (COSA). Each month OSBA Legal Services staff forward this newsletter
via email to Oregon Council of School Attorneys members. This is provided as a free service to COSA members.
Federal Regulations & Resources provides information about federal regulations and other guidance affecting school districts. This service is divided into three sections. The Federal Regulations section lists and summarizes official proposed and final regulations affecting school districts that have been published recently in the Federal Register. The Federal Resources section contains new guidance documents (letters, reports, enforcement guidance, etc.) published by federal agencies that affect school districts. Depending on an item’s relevance it may be summarized or only listed and linked to as a “briefly noted” item. The Federal Resource Special Feature section contains a Federal Resource Highlights subsection and an Agency Spotlight subsection. The Federal Resource Highlights subsection contains a summary of federal regulations or guidance documents that are not new, but that affect school districts. The Agency Spotlight subsection features a federal agency that promulgates regulations and guidance affecting school districts and summarizes what laws the agency administers and what types of guidance it promulgates. Not every issue will necessarily contain a Federal Resource Special Feature.
We welcome and appreciate your feedback about this service. Please direct comments
and subscription requests to me.
