Task force urges caution in selecting after-market doors and locks
September 2, 2016
Members of the Oregon Task Force on School Safety are reminding schools to be careful about installing certain after-market door-locking devices.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office, which has a representative on the task force, cautions that some such devices may not comply with state building codes.
Peggy Holstedt, OSBA’s director of policy services and a member of the task force, said this is an important aspect for schools to consider as they focus on facilities in the interest of safety.
