ODE releases redesigned school report cards

Oregon’s newly redesigned report cards for K-12 schools and districts were released today, Deputy Superintendent Rob Saxton announced.

According to the state Education Department, this is the first major overhaul since the report cards were introduced in 2000.

A news release from the department says the redesign “is the product of a broad-based effort (that) gathered feedback from parents, community members, educators, and stakeholders from around the state on the key elements, layout, and focus of the report cards.”

Jill Zurschmeide, a member of OSBA’s Legislative Policy Committee and member of the Tigard-Tualatin School Board, served on the Report Card Steering Committee that recommended the new report cards’ design, content and rating method.

The report cards can be found on the ODE website.
