Our 1,400 members are locally-elected public officials who serve on school district, charter school, education service district and community college boards. Collectively, they oversee the education of 970,000 students. The Oregon School Boards Association Board of Directors has unanimously selected Betsy Miller-Jones as the association’s new executive director.
OSBA’s members’ most pressing concern is the budgetary issues that face their respective districts, such as the cost of PERS, financial uncertainty and the challenge of meeting their districts’ needs with limited resources.

OSBA’s Summer Board Conference will help make you a more effective leader at a time when effective leadership is critical to raising student achievement, coping with shrinking budgets and answering ever-heavier demands.
School board members will gather on May 10 to identify specific issues and recommend ways OSBA can help address the special set of challenges and concerns faced by urban districts.
